CleanJobData vs Google Cloud Talent Solution — Job Data or Job Search Engine?

Competitor details last checked . Prices, limits and terms change, so confirm on Google Cloud Talent Solution's site before you decide.

Google Cloud Talent Solution (CTS) is often mistaken for a Google jobs data API. It isn't one. CTS is a RESTful service that brings machine learning to job search over your own job content: you create tenants, companies and jobs through the v4 API at jobs.googleapis.com, then call search, searchForAlert or completeQuery against them. Google's docs say that once it's integrated with your job content, it infers attributes such as related titles, seniority and industry. It supplies no listings of its own. Pricing (as of January 5, 2021, per Google's pricing page) requires billing to be enabled; the first 10,000 search calls and 10,000 stored jobs and companies each month are free, then search costs $1.50 per 1,000 calls and storage about $0.25 per 1,000 jobs or companies a month, with expired jobs billed until deleted or purged after 90 days. CleanJobData is the other half: a job data API that supplies listings from employer ATS platforms and company career sites. It's also distinct from Google for Jobs, the search feature, which has no API for reading its listings.

Verdict

This isn't an either-or. If you already have jobs, from your own employers or a data provider you're licensed to use, and want stronger search relevance, CTS is a search layer to consider. If you don't have jobs yet, CTS can't help, because it supplies none, and CleanJobData provides the listings. A job board can use CleanJobData's own filters for search, or send the jobs into a search layer like CTS for machine-learning relevance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Google Cloud Talent Solution provide job listings?

No. It searches job content you create through its API. Google's docs describe it as a service that brings machine learning to the job search experience once it's integrated with your job content.

How much does Google Cloud Talent Solution cost?

Google's pricing page (pricing as of January 5, 2021) says billing must be enabled, but you're only charged beyond 10,000 search or searchForAlert calls, or 10,000 stored jobs and companies, a month. Search then costs $1.50 per 1,000 calls; storage is billed hourly at about $0.25 per 1,000 jobs or companies a month. Only searches that return HTTP 200 are billed, and expired jobs are billed until you delete them or they're purged after 90 days.

Is Cloud Talent Solution the same as Google for Jobs?

No. Google for Jobs is the job search feature in Google Search, which finds jobs through JobPosting structured data on employer and job board pages. It has no API for reading its listings. Cloud Talent Solution is a paid Google Cloud API for searching your own job content.

Can I use CleanJobData with Cloud Talent Solution?

Technically yes: CTS can index any jobs you create in it, so CleanJobData could supply the listings and CTS the search. Check that your CleanJobData plan's licence covers your use case first; Starter and Pro allow syncing into your own database to power your own product.

What does a CleanJobData query look like?

GET https://api.cleanjobdata.com/jobs?title=engineer&remote=true with an Authorization: Bearer header. Responses are JSON with structured location, salary, experience level and company data. Pro and above see new jobs as soon as we index them; Starter lists them 24 hours later.
